Frequently Asked Questions
Naturally you will have questions and because of that we have listed some common ones below. However, there are bound to be ones that we've missed. If that's the case, please follow this link to contact us.
  • QuestionWe have plans, what do we do?
  • AnswerWe schedule a meeting at your home and ask for a set of plans to prepare a bid. We ask a lot of questions - some you will know the answers and others will require some more thought.
  • QuestionWe do not have plans, can you help?
  • AnswerWe schedule a meeting at your home and you tell us what it is that you want to accomplish.
  • QuestionCan an estimate be given so we know if we are in the ballpark?
  • AnswerWe give you an estimate to prepare a preliminary set of drawings. Once that has been approved, then the drawing begins. A rough ballpark estimate can be given after the first meeting - if you have a clear idea of what you want priced. This will save everyone a lot of time if we are radically far apart on a cost basis.
  • QuestionDo you give a real price or just on a cost plus basis?
  • AnswerOur cost will be a real number based on the drawings and the customer selections. Allowances will be provided for those items which have not been selected as of that date (cabinets, tops, lighting etc.). The only reason for the price to change is that:
    1. - You made a change order in the field after the contract.
    2. - You added something not in the contract.
    3. - You exceeded the allowance provided in the contract.
  • QuestionHow often do we have meetings?
  • AnswerWe will be on site daily. We will see you often. We will have meetings when we need questions answered or you need something clarified.
  • QuestionWhen and how do we pay you?
  • AnswerWe will provide a draw schedule which details the dollar amount owed when each phase of construction is completed. Typically there are 5 or 6 draws during a project.
  • QuestionHow realistic is your time schedule?
  • AnswerWith the huge ripple effect involved in moving into a completed home, we take our responsibility to meet your settlement date very seriously. It is imperative that we meet the settlement date so that rental housing and movers can make the transition as smoothly as possible. We will not promise you a date just because you want it - we will promise you a realistic date when we will be finished. Our philosophy is to be on time and on budget.
